I spent a little time in MySpace and FaceBook, just to take a look around. I agree with Judi Sohn's comment about Facebook being a blackhole. So many interesting things/people/places, so little time. One of the things I noticed about the Library accounts was that they don't have time to keep them updated. Oshkosh last updated theirs on May 24, 2007 (when I looked on 2/11/08). I wonder how anyone has the time to keep up - unless you spend a lot of time in that 'black hole'.

I looked at the list of other social networking sites and so many of them sound interesting, especially the travel related ones (for me). I guess we will all have to become specialists in one area or another - or maybe I'm just getting older, sometimes its hard to tell if its me or if there really is an overwhelming amount of 'stuff' to keep up with.

Hi Vesper PL,

Good comments about these social networking tools. And, you're right - if a library has a presence there it should be kept up to date.

I think your comment about becoming specialists is right on. There's way too much information out there to be an expert in all of it - or even know that it all exists. It's good to pick and choose those tools/sites/etc. that are important and work for you.

Keep on playing!
